1. Clarify
Let’s discuss the fine details of the project goals, establish expectations, research the competition and define your ideal target market. This is a great time to remind me of any colors you hate, that you don’t like cursive fonts, or any other critical information that could help or hurt the design process.
2. Create
This is the part I love the most! I create a mood board to get my creativity flowing. I sketch pages of logo concepts in black and white by hand before going to the computer. Using the best of the concepts, I explore color and typography options and create other graphic elements that will build a consistent brand experience for you and your customers.
3. Review
You’ve been waiting patiently (or eagerly) to see the designs I’ve been working on. It’s best to review them in multiple sittings. Each time you step away and come back, you’ll notice new things and may have different reactions. It’s best to take note of these and be sure to include in feedback for me!
4. Refine
In addition to the feedback you provide, we discuss if there are any final adjustments that need made to take that last step towards the final design.
5. Deliver
Congrats! You are now empowered with the right tools and information to start using the brand elements. I’ll provide you with a folder containing lots of goodies including logo files and a style guide explaining how to use everything and how to be consistent across all deliverables – digital and print.
6. Continue
I would love to continue working with you and supporting any and all design needs as your designer and creative collaborator.
